How to watch a movie: “Remember that everyone in the theater paid for their tickets, just like you did, and they are hoping to hear the movie, not you. Talking during a film is one of the best ways to communicate to others your own status as an ignorant boor. If people are talking behind you, try asking them to be quiet. If that doesn’t work, complain to an usher and then take a seat elsewhere in the theater.”

The only advantage I see of this news item http://tr.im/gVql is that now, people who could easily drink but now cannot will join the people who could smoke easily but now cannot who will be soon joined by the people who could eat food of their choice but soon cannot. The world will be divided between the cans and cannots. Soon, there will be no cans!

You never pay for a gift, do you? What’s this deal with free gifts, then?

There’s already the ‘education’ programme on healthy eating: http://www.nhs.uk/Change4Life/Pages/default.aspx?gclid=COW91IC7hJkCFQulQwod4RZvmw
Plus the STOP EATING SALT type campaign: http://www.salt.gov.uk/tv_ads.html
And of course the various advertising bans on advertising unhealthy food to children, alcohol companies not being allowed to ‘glamourise’ their product, the mooted ban on shops being able to display tobacco products in store…
Sooner or later they’re probably going to say that breathing isn’t good for you anymore…
